Coffee Caution - Moody Handle

 Ok so yesterday my doorbell rings and my first thought is "God Damit the BBQ is not till 6:30 Why there is even a nice note on the F#%@%&#*# door. Ok answer it Lani !

Open and What the Heck there is Jayne Stepp with a new Coffee maker. Long story short. I had an older version 28 years older with a glued handle and a note saying when in use to " Play nice Moody Handle" Well last week at the Bluegrass someone was having so much fun (Hick up) even the gorilla glue did not help. So yes I was a bit upset ...... ended up laughing with Jayne and Doyle that it even lasted so long 28 years shit even it was like loosing a child!

Thank you Doyle and Jayne even though I know it was all Jayne. That is Jayne so do you not wish you had a Jayne! Na na na xoxo

Ok do not get me wrong but older people like me. And to put it in perspective I love them they are honest no bullshit and really so very old school and that is my life. Old and School! I lost a good friend this last week and today was her services. She was older and wonderful. Full of life and a big wonderful heart. Rest in peace my Friend I will miss your text message's!






I wanted to highlight some of the great people that have touched me in the last few years. I did not realize how many over 50 friends I had. This is Maureen 93 years young with 13 children and drives. Now whop does that stuff. I was pouring her some wine one night when we were playing cards and she told me not to be so cheap pour more!

Well here are a couple of winner's. These two Betty and Nancy live at my mama's old stomping grounds but are still good for a quick game of Mahjong

Yes this is a concert I went to in Camarillo ! 

 This is Margo as sharp as she was smart. She dressed really nice . This is a time we went out to dinner and she ordered a nice strong drink or two. I tell you these ladies they know how to have fun!

Bernice this woman was near and dear to my heart. I was good friends with her for many year.s When she passed I was super sad. But the stories I listened to that she would tell me Wonderful. PLEASE be good to your old people and treat them with the respect and comfort they deserve. These people hold the key to your own future and hold many answer's. They have all taught me how to be a better Lani and I can only hope I will have more wonderful frie4nd's bless my life. xoxo

Monday really busy day at work and look i know you are about fed up with the fair but look at my ribbons and i got yes hold on to your hat $6.00 dollars winning funds....LOL ...and look at my sister Mimi and me hammock heads.....and the tree check out the perfect hole in it...well that is Monday stuff...ohohohoh i went to dinner at my nuns home well one nun one lay person..Sister Janet and her friend Mary it was great lasagna and salad laughter and really a great time the only thing missing is a picture but i will get one next time.....Life is good.....God Bless

It is Thursday and Im beat.....

So tonight we had a oh never mind with out pictures it means nothing...but I am so excited for this weekend only because i get to spend time with my baby sister Mimi now understand that when we are together it is nothing but laughing the whole time for any stupid reason we look at each other and laugh the last time i went to pick her up she lives in Pasadena we laughed so hard on the way home I'm so surprised we did not get in an accident ..and not because we are reckless but because we are driving so slow a turtle would pass us....Now how is your week the weather out here is so amazing Gods gift to California...i also have what i think is going to be some nice opportunities coming into my life did i ever share that when i got the cancer and went thu my treatment that i decided that i was not going to let any opportunity pass me but that i was taking life by the balls even more then i already do...i will explain more to you my friends and tom later but for now goodnight my friends sleep with the angels and God Bless thanks for being here .....

I have realized this last year how important my women friends mean to me in my life they come from so many different backgrounds and they all give me just the right thing i need each time I'm with them .....No matter what crap is going on in my life i try to get involved in what is going on in theirs and it gets me thu and when times are good they are better when times are bad they are with me even when they do not know something is wrong they are helping me,,,.I hope everyone has the gift of friendship i have...and here is the kicker that i have met more new friends on the blog spear...it is amazing that you can reach out across the world and see what people are doing in their own living room imagine when we were kids did you ever think that this kind of stuff would be happening ....lets never give up on the personal touch of the friends we have around us and always reach out to one another when we need a helping hand ...I don't mean to get sappy on you all but friends are so dear to me ....god bless Look at my mom and her friends in this picture now this is true friendship three ladies helping one another to get the gosh darn wine open....LOL

Dear Bernie,

I do not think you will ever know what your friendship meant to me...On a typical afternoon at work you showed up three years ago and needed a tooth out...Who would have know that from that day forward we would become such good friends. The afternoons talking with you were a joy...I can remember every time I left you would say." Oh Lani look at the time and all i did was yack" but with the yacking you taught me so many life lessons....How to be a better woman....Your stories of your oh so long and devoted marriage made me realize how we must all take the good with the bad because in the end we all have our soul mates and we must make it a partnership........The stories of your children made me cherish mine even more...and watching your son Randy tend to you daily made me hopeful my children would one day be so dedicated.... Your stories about your own childhood and living with your grandmother made me so grateful for my parents ...The stories of your College and your first job...wow what a woman you were.....The love you had to raise your little sister and only a few years ago you were still sending her little care packages....But most of all my friend were the many times we laughed and laughed ....the last few visits that we had when we would walk and although you could not see well I would pick you a rose and you would take it up and smell it and take it back to the home with you as if it were the most precious gift you ever had gotten...I will miss you my friend and I can only hope that one day I can be half the woman you have been ...God Bless you and may you rest in peace .... I gotta tell ya it is almost every other blog I am reading that someone is asking for prayer for a sick chillin' (that would be little one) in Lani lingo ...so many children are coming down with so many different things and it is not just the flu...Please please please teach the babies to wash there hands and to stop sneezing on each other ...it is so hard when they are little it is the last thing they think about but lets try to make sure we are extra good about keeping our own hands clean and covering our mouth ...all the flu shots in the world don't help when you get a nasty cold and the younger or older you are the more at risk you are....Stay Bundled and safe...Well just a small rambling no comments needed...lol...God Bless...

Great weekedn...Quilt show and new bird....e

Finally caught up with myself after the vacation and I still owe you guys pictures I will make a slide show today promise...but yesterday went to a great quilt show again will make another slide show of that too but when I was there low and behold i ran into a friend who Inever thought would quilt and I was shocked she was taking a class with her daughter thats nice and 700.00 dollars hshe is now a quilter ta da .....quilt...funny how we see people in our own eyes the way we see them and we never know how much we women have in common..so here is a picture of the girls from left to right Darcy my friend that I never thought would quilt...her daughter whats her name and my Best quilting bud Rita Mary....The show was small enough to enjoy but big enough to spend 100 dollars...then today got a new bird for bird my bird is called bird and so I will name this one Dee thus I have Bird Dee ...brilliant....ok going to the neighbors house to strip his pomegranate tree for jam...love U all..god bless...

The beach.........

Look at this just makes you know there is something out there greater than ourselves. I took this just as my girlfriend and I were leaving the beach today we went down just to grab two chairs and talk...It was so nice nothing to do but nothing just talk and listen and listen and talk women we are the GREATEST thing since chocolate.....Let me see if I can find the picture of us trying to be super models

Here we are and I always cut my own head off...... I'm so very blessed to have so many great people in my life speaking of people my good friend Lost Linda called today yup my ole' buddy ...seem she wanted some info on the neighbors oh my heart that is why she called....No news my days of keeping up with the neighbor gossip died with my horse with out him to ride and get the dirt there is nothing...but low and behold my husbands horse Tiny is looking awfully tempting this way I can be back on the trail and up to date with the neighborhood dirt....I will keep you posted because there is nothing better then a good ole trail ride with dirt ......
