OK so this salad is the best thing but lets take is one thing at a time first the glazed walnuts ..now yes you can buy your own but come on Linda help me here we know good candied walnuts are cause you give them away they are so good you dare not eat them you won't stop .....here is the recipe
2 cups of walnuts keep them in the frig for a few days cause for some reason cold is best...now take the 2 cups and roast them in an oven at 350 for about 5 minutes on a cookie sheet.... till they get brownish do not over cook because they will taste burnt even if over done a little....now take the walnuts out and cool them..wait about 20 minutes then mix this
1 cup of sugar
1/3 of a cup of water
2 tbsp of corn syrup
1 tsp salt
two teaspoons of cinnamon
1 tsp of vanilla
Cook the sugar, water and syrup and salt till it is bubbly not burnt this is a watch me thing to cook you must watch me ...... now once it is bubbly or if you want to use a thermometer it should be 233 ish OK turn down the heat add the rest of the stuff the . Now add the vanilla and the cinnamon it will fizzle OK oh crap put the cooled nuts In a brownie pan flat i think if you do it in a bowl they do not get covered good enough and they all need a little coat...OK pour the syrup over and mix them...oh i forgot i like real vanilla bean so i will get one cut it get out the guts and bake the pod in the syrup and take the pod out before i add it to the nuts...nutty huh
pour the nuts on some was paper or parchment but was is best let them cook and break them up...
