Dear Mom







Today is mama's day and such a blessed holiday it is....... I want to take the time to thank my mom for all she has done and meant to me......


Dear Mom,

Today is the day at the age of 54 I can look back and see all you have done for me..you are my hero you gave me the life I have today...with out you the road I have traveled would have been quite bleek....you have shown me how to be a honest happy and well rounded person...I remember so many little things....the fall off the pier at the Waikiki Yacht club ,....the bag of moth balls I enjoyed eating thinking they were Easter eggs....the olive pits I use to shove up my nose at restaurants....the many dinners we had a the dinner table as a family ....the cinnamon toast that I use to so look forward to ....the tender love I got every year when I was the one of five who always got strep throat...the uniforms you ironed for all five kids the Sunday morning jaunts to church...the smell of Jean Nate that still linger in my mind...the many party's you would have and all the friends you enjoyed...the god damn football games beer cussing and fun neighbors....the drive to Burbank every day for my four years of high school from Sherman Oaks while we listened to Dick Whittington or the group Bread.....The rides to the Notre Dame football games sock-ops and carnivals where I made many a friend....the hugs.............. the slaps........ the malt o' meal......... you are truly a star in my eyes .....I can only wish that one day I can be as wonderful as you are...you are the greatest mom in the world and I thank you from the top of my heart for all the sacrifice and hard work you put into making me the woman I am today with out you I could not imagine my life...thank you mom I love you dearly......your little lani .... VERY nice post, Lani...but...did you REALLY eat a bag of moth balls? YIKES...you are lucky you lived to tell about that one!!! You paid a nice tribute to your mom today.

Nice tribute, nice slide show. Have you ever noticed that all relatives photos from the 30's and 40's look nearly the same. Not only the same poses, but they look alike too.
