OOOOO...ooooo...am I first to comment??? (I have a blogging friend who says in giveaways "First it worst" as #1 rarely, if ever, gets picked.) We shall see. Most of the time I use the reusable grocery bags, but I forget them sometimes...so I'm going to make more of an effort with that. I also try to reuse containers rather than throw them away...keep buttons, sewing items, etc. in them. And...we will be planting a vegetable garden.

I started at your last 2 posts first before writing here. Congratulations on 100+ posts!! The snuggies - LOL all I can think of is Pappa Smurf jammies! LOL They are much like a choir robe huh LOL A hospital robe gone wrong LOL Okay, can't stop laughing over those pictures!
The wood - Wow that is alot of wood! Yup, I get it, I have probably used much the same words before! LOL Your hubbies answer had me laughing!
Sorry for the loss of Bart - I do hope that you and Tiny will eventually create a bond! :)
Going Green in our House what we do: Fill used/cleaned waterbottles, make our own grocery bags, recycle and reuse clothing & household items through Yahoo Freecycle, any leftover water in waterbottle gets used for plants not thrown away, veggie skins/peelings and coffee grounds and egg shells get chopped in Quad Blade and put into flower garden (winter frozen til spring), reuse containers for frozen veggies, homemade applesauce, etc...
Wonderful idea for a giveaway! THank you for hosting one!

Hi, What a fun giveaway, what we have started to do this year is, use re-usable grocery bags. Jo-Anns are my favorite, nice and big and strong. I also do not use paper plates anymore, I have found that I do not have to run the dishwasher anymore and we all got used to no paper in a week or so. We also use the coiled light bulbs. When I use the printer for my business, I use old paper if it has writing only on one side. Thanks for the chance, I am going to come back and read more comments, to see what else people are doing.

What a wonderful theme for your giveaway. We all need to be consious of the need to recycle and repurpose.
We compost our alpaca poop and GIVE it away FREE to anyone who will haul it away for their own gardens. We always have a vege garden, but this year we want to plant wheat and barley, too.
I WILL use my green shopping bags.
In my store, we use green bags that are made out of cornstarch and decompose easily in the landfills.

HiLani just wanted to say Hi, I won the last one and was so happy, so this round give the others a chance. When is your surgery?

Hello Lani!
We recycle everything we even have 2 big green recycle cans from the garbage company! I also have a compost bin which we add every little thing we can to it!It comes in super handy in the Spring when you have your own fresh soil! I bought a couple of green bags from Trader Joes and it just was not enough so I made some of my own this past week with left over fabrics. Anyway we try to do as much as we can to reduce our carbon footprint. My kids are young and they even know what to throw away and Not! I make my own cleaners and we will have a big family garden which as at my parents house they have much more room.

Have a lovely Sunday Lani!

I reuse the paper towels that I dry my hands on at work. After all they are only wet with water so I use them to wipe my hands on later. This saves a lot of paper!

We use fabric shopping bags as much as possible, recycle all recyclables that we can. We are very fortunate in that our building management has been very proactive so each suite has a "green" bin for waste that could be used for compost, we have a paper bin and a glass/plastic recyclable bin.
I print on both sides of paper whenever possible.

Great giveaway. Thanks for the chance.

I always recycle plastic bags, take other recyclables to the recycling center and never, ever throw my fabric scraps away. They can be used in other projects -- even the selvages!

Hey Lani!!
What a cute grouping!
Well I made my own shopping bags, also made some for other relatives!
We have a garden, very lil amounts of pre-packaged foods here, most from scratch.Trying to use and re-use as much as we can. We have always been conservative with water as we live in country with a shallow well so do not waste water!
Look forward to more ideas!!
Lola

What a great give away! We recycle all of our plastics and tins. We love to shop garage sales and second hand shops to give new life to something that has been discarded. Our coffee grounds are added to the flower beds, also.

Lani, This year I am not going to put any fertilizer or weed control on my yard. I may not even mow the grass. I know I'll not rake the leafs this fall, why? I didn't rake them last year either. My yard will become a natural compost heap.....Is this a good start??

We've been going green a lot here at Babasfarmlife. We refill water bottles, plant a garden, reuse and upcycle old clothing into new items, Make art from old iron and steel, plant trees, use Craigs list in our area, make cards out of old paper and fabric, and so much more that I can't think right now. Love the Green!

Lani, I always plant a garden. I've always been a waste not want not type of gal. If I have things I can't or don't use I take to donation spots. I had planned on letting to yard get a bit smaller this year so that means more trees will grow (plus I won't have as much to mow). I reuse all my ziplocks that use in swaps. I'm sure I could go on and on. Oh one more thing, I'm taking all cliff worn out T-shirt and crocheting rugs with them instead of filling up more trash bags with them. How about I send you one!!!! He has too many T-shirts anyway. Congratulations on your 100th post, I have truly enjoyed everyone of them.

We recycle all of our plastics, cans, etc., paper and card board and green waste (plants, raw green food waste, etc.).
I also have a water container next to the tap, so if I need warm water I will put the container under the tap and use the first cold water which I used to throw away in the sink for the plants, etc.

We reuse everything in this house. My kids find uses for all kinds of empty containers rathter than throwing them away. I'm taking several bags of aluminum cans to the recycler later today. We always plant a small vegetable garden. Thanks for having this green giveaway! :0)

Hi Lani, Once again, you have a great giveaway. Such beautiful things. And what a good thing of you to let us think about a way to help this planet. Well, what I do and ask the other members of this family to do, is to take a short shower, in order to save water. My son breaks every record!
I also drive a car that uses little patrol and try to take the bike or my feet as much as possible. In Holland we recycle a lot already. We separate our garbage, in many different ways, to which we hold ourselves strictly. I think it is very important for the next generations to do this!

Oh la la.....pick me, pick me. I have always refilled water bottles. Guess I'm just cheap that way. We too plant a garden. I hope I win.
